JACOB'S LADDER MINISTRIES

Writings by Jacob Swanson

The Crossed Sword

I stood there watching thousands of hideous creatures marching towards me. All of them wore black and dark red armor.
All I had was a bible in one hand and a sword shaped as the cross. I didn't think it was enough but a voice in my heart said it was more than enough.
My enemies had something of mine and I wanted it back. My spirit had fallen into darkness and now I was going to get it back.
As they came closer I began to fear.
"Do not fear the dark" A voice said to me "For when light shines on the dark the dark flees. And I am the light. No fear for I am always with you."
Then I stood before my enemies and showed no fear.
I lifted my sword and bible into the air. Then both began to glow. Before I could breath a shining light bombarded my enemies.
I walked on a battlefield with white feathers raining down. I looked into the sky and saw an eagle flying above.
I could not see anything. Had I fought for nothing? Then a voice said to me "You won back your spirit when you trusted in my word and in me."

The Ringing of Horns

There on a flat plain was two armies assembling. One was of the dark and one was of the light.

In the army of the dark there were creatures of the devil. They were led by the devil himself. There flag represented sin. But as things always are, sin can be overcome.

In the army of light there were angels with golden wings of glory. In the front lines was Gabriel and they were led by Jesus Christ. They knew they could not lose so they did not worry. Their flag represented the cross.

The battle was about to begin. The creatures of evil mounted on black wolves. The angels of God mounted on mighty lions, but Jesus mounted on a donkey.

The army of evil shouted curses out. They were cancelled out by the worship of the angels.

The battle was moments away. Then in an instant the angels swept down on the evil creatures. Saten the cowardly fled before he even used his whip.

After the victory Gabriel led the angels in a song. The whole battle field was then filled with the ringing of horns!
